MEDICAL HUMANITIES PROGRAM

Practicum

The Medical Humanities program offers a range of practicum experiences that connect students with real-world settings where health, culture, and society intersect. Through structured partnerships with institutions across the Texas Medical Center and beyond, students gain firsthand experience in clinical, research, and community environments. Opportunities include semester-long or year-long placements through the Medical Humanities Practicum program, intensive one-semester practicums, and specialized tracks like the Spanish for the Professions practicum and a summer abroad program in Spain and Taiwan.

Completion of MDHM 201: Introduction to Medical Humanities is a prerequisite for practicum options. Additional requirements vary by opportunity.
